1958 Sharp TR-173 "Collie"

A 1958 "coatpocket" radio, and like nearly all Sharps of the CD era, this 6-transistor set has no CD marks... The cabinet is identical to the 4-transistor Airline GEN-1212A, made by Sharp of course. (The Airline appears in Sams TSM 16 with a 1962 copyright date, but that's no indication of either radio's mfr date: there are many, many exceptions to that dubious rule-of-thumb placing a radio's mfr date as roughly a year earlier than its apearance in Sams Photofacts.)
