As you may be able to tell from the picture, this radio's cabinet has a bit of a translucent depth to it -- and whatever the specific characteristics of this plastic may be, it IS a thermosetting plastic, as opposed to the standard, usually ABS, thermoplastic material used for nearly all transistor cabinets of this period...
