Realtone TR-870 "Satellite"

A very hard to find radio: When I happened upon this beat-to-hell "parts set" a few years ago, I felt as if the Gods of All Things Collectible were smiling down upon me...

Besides the obvious wear-and-tear so visible here, what isn't quite so visible is the missing acrylic bonnet housing a missing tuning dial. Here's what it should look like:

(As you can see from the pic, this wonderful red 870 example features a fairly large chip out of the plastic on the left front face of its acrylic bonnet -- I'm sure there's a whole & complete 870 out there somewhere...)

The Realtone TR-870 Satellite is a 6 transistor radio with a standard AM broadcast band and a shortwave band covering 4-12 MHz. Its cabinet measures 4 5/8" x 2 3/4" x 1 1/4". Even without that zany tuning dial bonnet, the 870's cabinet face is nearly as unique and memorable as Toshiba's 8TP-90 "Concentric Ring."
