1958 Motorola 7X23E:
4"H x 6 1/2"W x 2"D excluding antenna handle
The coolest Motorola, a truly classic American transistor radio. Often referred to by collectors as the Motorola JetWing. A seven transistor radio, and like the 56T1, the cabinet is metal and the antenna is housed in the plastic handle. The bulky handle obviously detracts from the "fleetness" which the jet wing motif is supposed to suggest, but then that adds a charm of its own to this set.
A Japanese radio which was manufactured five or six years later, the
Nipco Hi-Fi Eight Transistor (no model number was assigned), made use of the Motorola's wing design and slimmed down its handle to a wire handle.
