Nipco "Jet Wing"

No question here about where the inspiration came from for this cabinet design... Motorola's 1958 7X23/7X24 series had this same "jet wing" thing on their faces (see pic below), but their bodies were fat and chunky and their antenna/handles were downright obese, quite a contradiction to the fleetness which the "wing" was meant to invoke... So Nipco ripped the wing thing design and put it on a much more sleek radio.





(Don't get me wrong here -- it may be clunky looking, but it's a classic radio!)
