circa 1959 Crown TR-911

Shirt pocket radio, thermoplastic cabinet
4 11/16 x 3 x 1 3/16 inches / 119 x 76 x 30 mm
Nine transistors (Hitachi), superheterodyne circuit
Two 1.5-volt AA cells
Manufactured by Crown Radio Corp., Tokyo
Distributed by Shriro Trading Corp., New York

One of Crown's two "monster" shirt pocket radios, the other one being the TR-999, and no surprise here that these two models share the same chassis.

This is the only Crown radio example I've seen that has what appears to be an actual serial number, 243124, rather than some sort of production date code — please see my Crown production date codes page. (And actually I have seen serial numbers on several other Crown radios, but all were late-production, 1962 and after.)
