1957 GE P-746B, 1959 P-800A:

1957 GE P-746B: 3 1/2"H x 6 5/8"W x 1 7/8"D
1959 P-800A: 3 1/2"H x 6 1/4"W x 1 3/4"D

Most US mfrs had at least ONE "great" transistor radio -- RCA had the 7BT9J, Admiral had the solar job -- but GE really didn't have any great transistors. (Neither did Westinghouse, nor any of the Arvin-made Silvertones.) Even GE's first transistor radio, the 670 series, wasn't all that exciting (though some collectors see in it a bulkier and horizontally-oriented echo of the Regency TR-1 cabinet).

So let's go throw all our GEs in the trash... No, don't do that -- as with Silvertone and Westinghouse transistors, there were many GE models which may not be "great" or "rare," but are really nice looking radios. The 746B and 800A shown above are two examples.
