Six transistors (5 NEC ovals, 1 Sony tubular), superheterodyne circuit

NEC's first shirt pocket transistor radio. I've always thought this was a weird-looking radio, and I still do. A clear plastic plate over the tuning dial and volume knob? Exposed Phillips-head screws on the dial face? And of all the cabinet colors that NEC could have chosen, why did they choose beige? My mother would have liked the choice. But the set does have its merits, I guess.
